!Before installation, confirm that:
This high-performance component does not comply with the laws and regulations for highway driving and cannot be used on any vehicle that has been registered or certified for use on highways. This means that the component may only be suitable for racing cars or other off-road vehicles. If it is installed on vehicles driving on the highway, legal issues will be borne by oneself.
This is the installation process for the DP-0321: 2007.5-2010 6.6L Duramax LMM 5" DPF Delete downpipe-back exhaust, for your reference during the installation process.
Step 1:
Remove all sensors from the exhaust pipe, starting from the bottom of the turbine direct pipe, and remove the clamps from the downpipe pipe. (Note: Keep the OE clamp as it will be used in the new system).
Step 2:
To make the disassembly of the exhaust pipe easier, it can be cut off from behind the muffler. Spray WD-40 on the hanger and loosen it. Then pry off the hanger from the rubber and remove the factory exhaust pipe. (Note: Saw or hacksaw is the preferred method for cutting exhaust).
Before installing the pipes, determine the sequence of the exhaust pipes and place clamps at the connection points.
Step 3:
Install the #1 downspout using the factory turbo clamp. Loosen the clamp tightly to hold the pipe, but the pipe can still move. Make sure to insert the pull rod into the hanger.
Step 4:
Install Pipe #2 then install Pipe #3 after Pipe #2 and insert the metal hanger into the factory insulating rubber. Loosely fix the fixture to the pipe, but the pipe can still move. For Crew Cab Long Box & Dually wheel bases, the extended pipe #3-1 will be used after pipe #3,and some models need to be cut to adjust the length.
Step 5:
1.In long box vehicles, if a muffler needs to be installed, install one end of the muffler to the rear of pipe #3 or #3-1, place a clamp on the port, and loosely clamp it to ensure that the muffler can still be moved.
2.Install the tail pipe to the outlet of the muffler tube or straight pipe, and insert the suspension into the factory rubber hanger. The tailpipe can still be moved by clamping it with a fixture.
Step 6:
Check the clearance, that is, the brake line may have to be moved or the electronic brake cable and the axle exhaust pipe. It is also necessary to check whether the outlet of the tailpipe is level with the truck.
Starting from the drain pipe, tighten the turbine belt clamp, and then at the connection point behind the front clamp starting to work, pull it tighter as you go further back.
Note: To enhance safety, micro-welding should be adopted at the clamping connection points of the pipeline. Don't weld the clips.
