!Before installation, confirm that:
This high-performance component does not comply with the laws and regulations for highway driving and cannot be used on any vehicle that has been registered or certified for use on highways. This means that the component may only be suitable for racing cars or other off-road vehicles. If it is installed on vehicles driving on the highway, legal issues will be borne by oneself.
This is the installation process for the ER-0305: 2008-2019 6.4L 6.7L Ford Powerstroke Fuel Temp SOTF Switch, provided for your reference during installation.
Step 1:
First, open the truck hood. It is recommended to disconnect the negative terminals of both power sources.
Step 2:
Locate the fuel temperature sensor and disconnect it from the wiring harness.
Step 3:
Cut a small notch in the rubber gasket to the left of the driver's side step in the cab. Be careful not to damage any wires in the wiring harness.
Step 4:
Use a steel wire or iron wire to pass through the firewall, through the rubber gasket, and secure one end of the switch wire to the steel wire or iron wire with tape. Pull the switch wire into the engine compartment.
Step 5:
Pull the switch wire correctly to the sensor location and wrap the switch wire with the flexible tubing provided in the kit.
Step 6:
Connect the switch wiring harness to the fuel temperature sensor wiring harness using the connector terminals. Note that for 2015-2019 models, the green and green/white wires on the sensor wiring harness should match. For other years, the two wires can be used directly; polarity is irrelevant. The connector terminals may differ slightly from the picture after upgrade, but the function remains the same.
Step 7:
Wrap the sensor wiring harness with tape, then wrap the other original sensor connector with tape to prevent corrosion.
Step 8:
Find a suitable location, drill a hole, and install the switch. The specific location may vary depending on the truck model and individual operating habits.
Step 9:
After installing the switch, bundle and organize the switch wiring harness and other wiring harnesses under the dashboard.
Note: The pictures in this manual are based on 2015-2019 models. However, the main installation steps are the same for 2008-2010 and 2011-2014 models, with the main difference being the location and style of the fuel temperature sensor.
