2011-2016 6.7L Ford Powerstroke Diesel Fuel Filter Replaces FD4615

This is the installation process for the FI-F-16-01: 2011-2016 6.7L Ford Powerstroke Diesel Fuel Filter Replaces FD4615,provided for your reference during installation.

Step 1:
The main filter element is located on the frame below the driver's side door. Place the drain pan below the oil-water separator. Manually unscrew the yellow plastic drain knob counterclockwise to drain the water and diesel fuel. After draining, tighten the knob. Press the sensor plug clip, unplug the power cord, and remove it.

Step 2:
Use a 32mm hex socket to loosen and remove the black filter end cap. Pour out any remaining oil and forcefully pull the old filter element off the end cap and discard it.

Step 3:
Use a pick or small screwdriver to remove the old O-ring from the end cap. Install the new O-ring into the end cap's sealing groove. Press the new filter element firmly into the end cap until it locks in place.

Step 4:
First, manually screw the end cap with the new filter element clockwise into the frame housing, then use the 32mm socket to tighten it completely. Reconnect the power cord, ensuring you hear a "click" sound.

Step 5:
The secondary filter is located in the engine compartment, near the dipstick/transmission dipstick.Disconnect the two old fuel lines. Push the two blue plastic clips on one side outwards while simultaneously pressing downwards to release them. Use a cloth as a pad to pull out the lines. On the other side, simultaneously pinch the two white plastic clips at the top and bottom and pull the lines outwards.

Step 6:
Rotate the old fuel filter body counterclockwise to unlock it, then pull it upwards to remove it.

Step 7:
Observe the positioning notch on the side of the new filter element. Align it with the slot on the bracket and insert it vertically downwards. Then rotate it clockwise to lock it in place. Press the two inlet and outlet fuel lines back into their original positions until you hear a clear click. Push the two blue plastic clips upwards to lock them in place and gently pull the lines to ensure they are not loose.

Note: Never start the engine immediately after changing the filter! Air must be purged from the system; otherwise, the truck will not start.
