This is the installation process for the ER-0307: 2011-2022 6.7L Ford Powerstroke Charged Air Cooler 5 Position SOTF Switch, provided for your reference during installation.
Step 1:
First, open the truck hood. It is recommended to disconnect the negative terminals of both power sources.
Step 2:
Locate the intake air temperature sensor and disconnect it from the wiring harness.
Step 3:
Cut a small notch in the rubber gasket on the left side of the driver's side step in the cab. Be careful not to damage any wires in the wiring harness.
Step 4:
Use a steel wire or iron wire to pass through the firewall, through the rubber gasket, and secure one end of the switch wire to the steel wire or iron wire with tape. Pull the switch wire into the engine compartment.
Step 5:
Pull the switch wire correctly to the sensor location and wrap the switch wire with the flexible sleeve provided in the kit.
Step 6:
Assemble the provided connector and install the switch wiring harness into the two mounting holes on the connector, ensuring it is properly seated. The polarity of the two wires is irrelevant.
Step 7:
Insert the new switch connector into the intake air temperature sensor wiring harness, and then wrap the other original sensor with tape to prevent corrosion.
Step 8:
Find a suitable location, drill a hole, and install the switch. The specific location may vary depending on the truck model and individual operating habits.
Step 9:
After installing the switch, bundle and organize the switch wiring harness and other wiring harnesses under the dashboard.
