How do I tell if my hydraulic lifters are failing prematurely?

My 2022 6.7L has a very loud "ticking" noise that starts about 30 seconds after a cold start. I know RAM went to hydraulic lifters in 2019 to stop the 150k-mile valve adjustments, but this sound is definitely not normal injector rattle. It sounds like a mechanical tap from the top end. Is there a specific way to troubleshoot this before I take it to the dealer and get the "it's just a Cummins" excuse? I’m worried about a lifter collapsing and wiping out the cam.
