How do you choose between an EFI Live tune and a "Box Tuner" for a daily driver that still needs to be reliable?

I’m torn between the convenience of a "box tuner" and the precision of custom EFI Live for my daily. What is the real-world difference in reliability? For those who have switched, how much better is the trans tuning and EGT control on a custom file? Is the extra cost worth it for a non-race rig?

If you’re the type of owner who just wants a little extra kick and the ability to read codes/clear DPF lights without a laptop, a Box Tuner (like an Edge or Banks) is hard to beat for convenience. However, if you plan on keeping the truck past 200k miles, the 'one-size-fits-all' approach of a box tuner can lead to premature wear. HOW much better is EFI Live? It feels like the truck came from the factory with 100 extra HP—it’s that smooth. Is the cost worth it? If you value your 'peace of mind' and want the best fuel economy possible, yes. But if you're on a budget and just want a simple plug-and-play boost, a box tuner will get the job done.
