How often are you guys flushing your cooling system to prevent silicate dropout, and what is the best ELC (Extended Life Coolant) you’ve switched to?

Maintaining a healthy cooling system is the lifeblood of the 6.0L Powerstroke, but silicate dropout remains a constant threat to the oil cooler. How often are you performing a full flush to keep the passages clear, and what specific ELC (Extended Life Coolant) have you switched to for maximum protection?

Are you sticking with the Ford Gold, or have you moved to a Cat EC-1 rated coolant to eliminate the "goo" for good?

How much distilled water are you planning to buy? For a proper 6.0L flush, you need at least 20-25 gallons to get all the old chemicals out. Whatever you do, don't use tap water or you're just inviting mineral buildup. I switched to Delo 600 ELC and haven't looked back. No more 'goo' in my degas bottle for over two years now!
