Let's face it: not everyone has $3,000+ laying around to upgrade to a CP3 pump the second they buy an LML Duramax. I want to keep my 2014 Silverado completely stock for warranty and emissions reasons, but I’m terrified of the Bosch CP4 grenading and totaling my entire fuel loop with metal flakes.
For those of you who have successfully pushed a stock CP4 past 150,000 miles without a failure, how did you do it? Are you running a lift pump like a FASS 165 at 8-10 psi to keep it constantly fed, or is it purely about dumping heavy lubricity additives into the tank at every single fill-up? Give me your exact fuel maintenance routine to keep the 'disco glitter' away.
