How to tell if your LB7 injectors are failing before they ruin your oil?

Is your LB7 "making oil" or just blowing haze at stoplights?

Between the Paper Towel Halo Test and monitoring rising dipstick levels, what’s your secret for catching a leak before it kills your bearings? Drop your diagnostic tips or "horror stories" below—how many miles did your injectors actually last?

The 'making oil' part is the real silent killer on these LB7s. Since the injectors are under the valve covers, a leak goes straight into the crankcase, not out the tailpipe. My secret? The smell test. Pull your dipstick every Saturday morning—if it smells like a gas station instead of engine oil, you’re in trouble. I also do the Halo Test on a white paper towel every 2,000 miles. If the oil drop creates a clear fuel ring around the soot, I’m ordering a set of SAC injectors immediately. Don't wait until the oil gets so thin it 'washes out' your main bearings—that's a $15k mistake.
