!Before installation, confirm that:
To avoid severe burns, please ensure the engine and exhaust system have completely cooled down before installation. Wear safety goggles during installation to prevent debris from entering your eyes. You are solely responsible for any damage or injury caused by improper installation.
This is the installation process for the ER-0335: 2008-2010 6.4L Ford EGT Exhaust Temperature Sensor 8C3Z12B591E,provided for your reference during installation.
Step 1:
Since the sensor is in direct contact with the exhaust pipe, ensure the engine is completely cooled before proceeding. To prevent electrical short circuits, it is recommended to disconnect the negative battery cable first.
Step 2:
Remove the mudguard liners by unscrewing the bolts and plastic clips securing them, then pull the liners out. If necessary, remove the front passenger-side wheel to create more workspace.
Step 3:
At this point, you will find the EGT sensor directly in front of you, fully exposed and within clear view; you can reach straight in with your tools.
Step 4:
Before removal, generously spray penetrating lubricant onto the threads of the old sensor.
Step 5:
Locate the sensor's electrical connector. Disconnect the black electrical plug. Be careful not to pull forcefully on the wiring harness, as this could damage the vehicle-side socket.
Step 6:
Use a 13mm wrench to loosen the sensor by turning it counter-clockwise. If the sensor is seized by rust and will not budge, try gently tightening it slightly before attempting to loosen it again; alternatively, use a torch to apply localized heat to the mounting bung on the exhaust pipe.
Step 7:
Apply a small amount of high-temperature anti-seize compound to the threads of the new sensor. Crucially, do not allow the anti-seize compound to touch the tip of the sensor probe, as this will result in inaccurate readings.
Step 8:
Thread the new sensor into the exhaust bung by hand. Hand-threading first ensures proper thread alignment and prevents cross-threading. Use a 13mm wrench to tighten it down. Do not overtighten, as this could make future replacements difficult or cause the mounting bung to crack.
Step 9:
Plug the electrical connector back into the vehicle-side socket, ensuring that the wiring harness is routed away from any moving parts or sources of extreme heat.
Step 10:
