!Before installation, confirm that:
This high-performance component does not comply with the laws and regulations for highway driving and cannot be used on any vehicle that has been registered or certified for use on highways. This means that the component may only be suitable for racing cars or other off-road vehicles. If it is installed on vehicles driving on the highway, legal issues will be borne by oneself.
This is the installation process for the ER-0083: 2008-2010 6.4L Ford Powerstroke Coolant Filtration System & Filter Kit, for your reference during the installation process.
Step 1:
1.Disconnect Batteries,Drain coolant.
2.Disconnect the MAF sensor and filter sensor wire from the intake.
Step 2:
Use a wrench to install the 3/8 "NPT ball valve onto the coolant filter block. Install the 3/8 "hose hook onto the ball valve. As shown in the figure, insert the 90 ⁰ hose hook into the top of the coolant block. Make sure to apply the thread sealing tape in the correct direction to all bare threads. Additionally, ensure that the valve is in the closed position.
Step 3:
1.Release the hose clamp and pull back the intake dust cover. Then pull up the bellows, remove the baffle tube next to the passenger fender, and pull out the bellows.
2.On the passenger side, remove the two transmission cross member nuts then install the bracket and coolant block, re-use the two cross member nuts.
Step 4:
1.On the passenger side of the motor, cut the lower heater hose and splice the blue "T" connector. Route the hose downwards along the outer side of the frame longitudinal beam to the filter block.
2.Use the 8 hose clamp to connect the hose to the 90 ⁰ thorny brass connector on the top of the coolant block.
Step 5:
1.Install the coolant line with the smaller brass “T” by tapping it into the small coolant return line over the radiator on the pas-senger side. Route the hose down the outside of the frame rail to the filter block.
2.Using a size 8 hose clamp, connect the hose to the barbed brass fitting on the side of the coolant block.
Step 6:
Prefill the fi lter and wet the O-ring with a petroleum lubricant.
Step 7:
1.Install the filter, open the valves, and fill the system per Ford specifi cations. Start the truck and check for leaks.
2.After the truck has reached operating temperature, check the coolant and top off as needed.
