!Before installation, confirm that:
This high-performance component does not comply with the laws and regulations for highway driving and cannot be used on any vehicle that has been registered or certified for use on highways. This means that the component may only be suitable for racing cars or other off-road vehicles. If it is installed on vehicles driving on the highway, legal issues will be borne by oneself.
This is the installation process for the IA-0002: 2009-2013 4.8L 5.3L 6.0L Chevy GMC 1500 Cold Air Intake w/Heat Shield,provided for your reference during installation.
Step 1:
1.Park the vehicle on a flat surface, allow the engine to cool down, and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.Remove the original intake system: Unscrew the bolts of the air filter box.
2.Disconnect the air flow sensor, loosen the bolts of the air filter box, disconnect the crankcase ventilation hose, and remove the original intake system.
Step 2:
Install the air filter bracket onto the fender using the hardware provided in the kit.
Step 3:
1.Install the heat insulation cover and then fix it to the mudguard using screws.
2.Using the hardware provided in the kit, fix the bracket to the heat shield with screws and attach the provided protective strips to the heat insulation board.
Step 4:
1.Use a screwdriver to unscrew the two bolts at the top, and then you can remove the MAF sensor.
2.Install the MAF sensor and the hose connector onto the new intake pipe.
Step 5:
1.Connect the filter adapter to the filter, then install the heat shield on it and secure it with a clamp.
2.Fix the intake pipe joint onto the filter and secure it with a clamp.
Step 6:
Remove the original crankcase ventilation hose and then install the new one.
Step 7:
Attach the rubber intake pipe connector at the inlet of the throttle, then install the new intake pipe and secure it with a clamp.
Step 8:
1.Insert the hose into the intake pipe and reconnect the air flow sensor.
2.Reconnect the battery and ensure no components are touching hot engine parts.
