This product can only be installed on the driver's side. After installation, periodically check the upper and lower mounting positions to ensure the components are not loosened due to repeated use. If any mounting position is found to be loose, retighten the hardware as needed.

On the driver's side, locate the two bolts securing the tailgate, near the tailgate pivot point. Using a 10mm wrench, remove only the upper bolt. Using a 10mm wrench, loosen but do not remove the lower bolt.

This is the installation process for the TA-F-0003: 2015-2025 Ford F-150 Tailgate Assist Shock Kit,provided for your reference during installation.On the driver's side, locate the two bolts securing the tailgate, near the tailgate pivot point. There is an opening slot on one side of the tailgate ball joint mounting plate. Slide the mounting plate onto the loosened bolt between the tailgate and the washer on the bolt. Insert the round-head bolt through the hole in the tailgate ball joint mounting plate and screw it into the tailgate. Tighten the round-head bolt using an M5 Allen wrench, and tighten the other bolt using a 10mm wrench.
If there is a driver's side tailgate retaining strap/opener, it needs to be removed to ensure the tailgate can close.
Remove the tailgate cable from the bolts. Using a T50 Torx socket or the provided wrench, remove the cable bolt. Insert the bolt removed in the previous step through the hole in the ball joint mounting plate and reinstall it.
We provide polyester film to prevent parts from sliding on the truck bed and tailgate. Apply the polyester film to the truck bed and tailgate, especially where the tailgate auxiliary components will be close during opening/closing. The arrows in the diagram indicate the installation location of the polyester film. The vehicle shown in the diagram is only an example of polyester film installation. Your vehicle may differ from the one shown in the diagram.
