!Before installation, confirm that:
This high-performance component does not comply with the laws and regulations for highway driving and cannot be used on any vehicle that has been registered or certified for use on highways. This means that the component may only be suitable for racing cars or other off-road vehicles. If it is installed on vehicles driving on the highway, legal issues will be borne by oneself.
This is the installation process for the DP-0316: 2020-2024 6.7L Ford powerstroke 4" downpipe Exhaust, provided for your reference during installation.
Step 1:
Please ensure the vehicle has been turned off and cooled down before proceeding with any further operations.
Step 2:
First, the inner fender of the passenger-side front wheel needs to be removed to make it easier to access the original exhaust downpipe for hardware installation. After removing the inner liner, loosen the clamps that secure the lower section of the exhaust downpipe to the upper section. Once the clamps are loosened, the two bolts securing the lower exhaust downpipe can be removed.
Step 3:
Finally, remove the two nuts and two studs securing the lower section of the exhaust downpipe to the passenger-side cylinder head. After removing them, pry and shake the exhaust downpipe until it detaches from the upper section. It may be necessary to remove two exhaust downpipe hangers to move the exhaust downpipe and create sufficient working space at the bottom.
Step 4:
Now you can begin disassembling the upper part. First, loosen the 11mm nut on the T-bolt clamp, then remove the lower exhaust downpipe clamp that connects the upper part and the rear of the turbine.
Step 5:
After removing the exhaust downpipe clamp, you can remove the 10mm bolts that secure the upper exhaust downpipe to the engine cover. Then, begin installing the 4-inch stainless steel exhaust downpipe.
Step 6:
Secure the upper assembly to the rear of the turbocharger using the exhaust downpipe clamp. To facilitate rotation of the upper assembly, the clamp does not need to be tightened too much. Then, reinstall the 10mm bolts onto the rear cover to secure the exhaust downpipe . After tightening the bolts, tighten the nuts on the exhaust downpipe clamp.
Step 7:
Next, install the lower assembly. Install the clamps that came with your package onto the exhaust downpipe, making sure the nuts are facing the firewall. Slide the lower assembly into place and install it onto the upper assembly. Reinstall the two studs and two nuts to secure it in place.
Step 8:
After tightening the nuts and studs, the clamps that secure and seal the lower component to the upper component can be tightened.
Step 9:
After securely connecting the two exhaust pipe sections, reconnect the exhaust system to the exhaust downpipe. Check for leaks; if there are no issues, reinstall the mudguard liner.
