DPF Remove: Is it "worth it" for a daily driver? (07.5-12 Cummins)

I’ve got a 2010 Ram 2500 and the "Perform Service" light is killing me. I’m tired of the regen cycles ruining my MPG on the highway. If I go full delete, how much of a difference does it actually make in engine temp and fuel economy? Is it a "set it and forget it" mod, or does it require constant fine-tuning?

My only regret is waiting so long. It’s like driving a different truck. Cooler, faster, and no more "limp mode" anxiety.

The EGT drop is real, especially on long uphill pulls. When that DPF is active, the exhaust is essentially backed up, creating a 'thermal blanket' effect around the turbine. Once that restriction is gone, the turbo spools much more freely. I saw about 150-200°F lower sustained temps on mountain passes. Just make sure your cooling system is up to spec because you'll definitely be using that extra power more often.
