If I see "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" one more time... (2009 F250)

I swear my 6.4L spends more time in "regen mode" than actually driving. Every time I get on the highway, that light pops up and my fuel economy drops to single digits. I’m tired of the engine oil dilution issues caused by this. For those of you who did the DPF delete—did it change the "personality" of the truck? Does it finally stop the oil level from rising?

Be careful with your local laws, but yeah, the 6.4L is a completely different truck once that exhaust is wide open.

"Man, I feel your pain. I deleted my '09 back in 2020 and it's night and day. Before the delete, I was averaging 11 MPG mixed, and my oil level was creeping up every 2,000 miles. Post-delete with a mild 80hp tow tune, I’m getting 17-18 MPG on the highway, and the oil stays right at the full mark. The truck runs so much cooler now because you aren't dumping raw fuel into the cylinders to heat up the DPF. It completely changed the truck's personality—it's actually fun to drive now instead of a chore."
