2006-2010 Chevy Duramax LBZ/LMM 5 Position Switch

!Before installation, confirm that:

This high-performance component does not comply with the laws and regulations for highway driving and cannot be used on any vehicle that has been registered or certified for use on highways. This means that the component may only be suitable for racing cars or other off-road vehicles. If it is installed on vehicles driving on the highway, legal issues will be borne by oneself.


This is the installation process for the ER-0295: 2006-2010 Chevy Duramax LBZ/LMM 5 Position Switch, provided for your reference during installation.
ER-0295
Step 1:
Open the hood, first disconnect the negative terminals of both power sources, locate the hood release rubber seal on the driver's side firewall, and then pull it out.

Step 2:
Locate the Engine Control Module (ECM), which is usually located near the battery on the driver's side at the front of the engine compartment. Then disconnect the ECM from the ECM connector.

Step 3:
Carefully thread the wire through the hole where the rubber gasket was removed earlier into the engine compartment from the cab. Ensure the wire on the engine compartment side is long enough to connect to the Engine Control Module (ECM) harness.

Step 4:
Use the conduit provided with the switch to protect the switch wire from high temperatures. Carefully reinstall the hood latch rubber gasket around the harness.

Step 5:
Locate the larger connector on the ECM harness and ensure it is in the closed position. Use a small screwdriver to remove the cover from the ECM harness.

Step 6:
Remove the purple slider attached to the ECM harness.

Step 7:
Locate pins #46 and #54 and insert the two switch pins here. The wire colors are not important. Make sure they are fully inserted into the bottom of the ECM connector.

Step 8:
Then reinsert the purple slider into the ECM harness and reconnect the ECM harness cover.

Step 9:
Finally, reconnect the ECM connectors to the ECM, making sure to connect the larger connectors first, then the smaller ones. The engine compartment installation is now complete.

Step 10:
Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. Press the small white test button on the back of the switch. If one of the LEDs lights up, the pins are in the correct position. If none of the LEDs light up, check the wiring connections.

Step 11:
Drill a small hole of appropriate size on a suitable panel near the dashboard in the driver's cab and install the switch.

Step 12:
Secure the switch harness to the other harnesses below the dashboard using electrical tape or cable ties.
