This is the installation process for the ER-0297: 2011-2014 6.7L Ford Powerstroke SOTF Switch w/Connector, provided for your reference during installation.
Step 1:
First, open the truck's hood. It is recommended to disconnect the negative terminals of both power sources.
Step 2:
Locate the fuel temperature sensor on the left side of the engine, near the fuel filter. Disconnect the fuel temperature sensor and its wiring harness.
Step 3:
On the left side of the driver's side step in the cab, cut a small slit in the rubber gasket. Be careful not to damage any wires in the wiring harness.
Step 4:
Thread a steel or iron wire through the rubber gasket on the firewall, and secure one end of the switch wire to the other end of the steel or iron wire with tape. Pull the switch wire into the engine compartment.
Step 5:
Draw the switch wire correctly to the sensor location and wrap the switch wire with the flexible sleeve provided in the kit.
Step 6:
Using the provided connector, insert the two wire pins into the two holes of the connector. Either hole can be inserted,Polarity does not matter.
Step 7:
Insert the new switch connector into the fuel temperature sensor wiring harness, and then wrap the other original sensor with tape to prevent corrosion.
Step 8:
Find a suitable location to drill a hole and install the switch. This may vary depending on the truck and individual operating habits.
Step 9:
After installing the switch, bundle and organize the switch wiring harness and other wiring harnesses below the dashboard.
