LMM Duramax: Can you actually "clean" a DPF, or is it just a temporary fix?

I’m getting the "Regen Required" light way too often lately on my '08 LMM. I’ve heard about commercial DPF baking services, but does it actually restore performance, or is the core just permanently degraded after 150k miles? Has anyone tried the liquid cleaners, or is that just snake oil?

Don't waste money on liquid cleaners; it’ll just kill your sensors. At 150k, the internal structure is likely degraded—just go for a high-flow replacement.
