This is the installation process for the 2001-2007 6.6L GM Duramax LB7 LLY LBZ DP-0304: 4" Downpipe Back DPF Delete Pipe and DP-0305: 5" Downpipe Back DPF Delete Pipe, for your reference during the installation process.
Step 1:
Remove all sensors from the exhaust pipe, loosen the flange that secures the drain pipe and DPF/exhaust pipe assembly.
Step 2:
Remove all factory plugs and ventilation holes from the diesel particulate filter, tie them to the truck frame or remove them from the clamp connection. Spray the hanger with WD-40, then pry off the hanger from the rubber bracket and remove the DPF from the truck.
Step 3:
1.Release the exhaust fixture that secures the OEM turbine straight pipe and downspout, and then remove it. Remember to keep the fixture for future use.
2.To facilitate the disassembly of the downpipe, remove the hanger attached to the gearbox and cut off the pipe inlet.
Step 4:
Install the drain pipe using the original fixture and connect the drain pipe flange. Press the
downward flange to secure the pipeline, but the pipeline can still move.
Step 5:
Install pipe #2 Connect one end of the sloping surface to the tail end of the # 1 downpipe and tighten it loosely with a fixture.
Connect the U-shaped tube of the pipe #3 to the end of the pipe #2 , and loosely clamp it with a fixture.
Step 6:
Install the muffler replacement pipe #4 in front of the #6 axle pipe and the #7 tailpipe, and select the appropriate extension pipe #5 according to the wheelbase. Cut the extension pipe according to the needs of the vehicle body.
Step 7:
Starting from pipe #1, tighten the vortex belt clamp and continue tightening until the rear connection, checking the gap while tightening.
